This is one of those hate moments.  I'm certain that MCG is behind this, even if the article didn't say it was.  The building has already been completely leveled.  I'll have to wait and see what's put in it's place though.  That will be the proof.

I'm really sad to see that place go.  I always loved just EXPLORING that store.  Especially, the costume shop.  I'd always get the gloves for my Vegeta costume from there.  Though...this article made me happy!  I will have to check this place out!  ^_^

Oh NO! I didn't know that! I'm sorry Dani! I really didn't know it was closed until I saw the building being torn down! If I had known I would have tried to take you there before it closed! It was a cute, quaint store. Even if they rebuild it will be hard to capture that quality it had before. We will have to wait and see. Sorry

Yeah I don't think I ever went in anyways.... and why do you think MSG is involved?

I do not think that MSG is involved in this at all! I think MCG is involved though.

MSG is a food additive and flavor enhancer usually found in Asian foods. MCG is a hospital and medical college located in Augusta, Georgia.

Ok, why do you think that MCG is involved then.

Well, for one, I've hear two people say that MCG is the one that bought it. One of them happens to work a little food cart in the R&E building here at work and that cart is owned by Fat Man's.

Also, I know that MCG is looking to expand and Fat Man's is right in the potiental expansion radius. Just like the ghetto right behind the R&E building was and it definitely has been bought by MCG. I know this because they've annouced their plans to build a new dental school and parking deck (yay!) there.

Plus, who else is going to be willing to pay 2.5 million dollars for such a small piece of property so close to a bad part of town? And be able to have it completely torn down within a couple of months? I honestly doubt that Paine College (the only other thing nearby that MAY be interested in that spot) is looking to expand for THAT much. My 'informant' at the Fat Man's food cart said that the price tag was actually 4 million, but that could just be hearsay considering what the article in the Augusta Chronicle said.

Anyway, I know how my work place behaves and it is really the prime as well as ONLY suspect.
